The route
Sail from Friesland to Overijssel and discover one of the most beautiful natural areas in the Netherlands: Weerribben-Wieden National Park, a vast landscape of reed beds, narrow waterways and peace and quiet.
Along the way you'll pass Blokzijl, an authentic old fishing village with a cosy, round marina and terraces along the water. Next you'll reach Vollenhove, a charming town with a historic centre, little streets and an atmospheric marina. Here you can walk straight from your boat to the shops and cosy cafés and restaurants.
Giethoorn can't be missed either. You moor at the village without streets and discover the idyllic surroundings without having to navigate the narrow canals.
Suitable for all boats and for beginners.
Sailing times: 4 to 4.5 hours a day.
