About Barones

Convertible cruising on the Frisian waterways

The Barones is a unique Aquanaut 900 from 1985, built at the Bakker shipyard in Sneek. With her open cockpit and aft cabin, she turns heads wherever she goes.

What makes the Barones truly special is that she can be sailed fully open, just like a convertible. Fold down the hood and windows and the air draft drops to just 1.80 metres, opening up every corner of Friesland. Even the narrowest canals and lowest bridges of the Elfsteden route are easily within reach. With the hood up, the air draft is 2.30 metres.

On board you will find everything you need for a comfortable holiday: hot water, an electric toilet, a battery charger/inverter, 230-volt power, hot air heating and a swimming ladder. The Barones is perfect for two people or a small family looking for something truly original on the water.
